For triathletes in Surrey and Hampshire (Ages 25-55), the "sharpening" phase isn't just about swimming faster—it's about holding your technique together when the heart rate climbs.
At Speedy Swimming, we don’t just drill; we build an Endurance Engine. If you’re targeting a 70.3, T100, or Olympic PB, your "Long Axis" is your greatest asset.
The Speedy Technique Breakdown:
🔹 Long Axis Hip-Snap: We move away from "shoulder rolling" and focus on core-driven rotation to 45 degrees. This minimizes frontal drag and saves your shoulders for the bike. 🚲
🔹 Front Quadrant Timing: Stop the "windmill." We use 3/4 Catch-up to ensure you maintain a patient lead-arm glide, creating a constant streamline.
🔹 High Elbow Recovery: Using the "Zipper Drill" (thumb to armpit) to keep the recovery tight and the entry clean.
The Friday Sharpening Set at Guildford Lido:
We bridge the gap between "technical drills" and "race-pace reality." We take the precision of a 1:30–2:15/100m pace and lock it in under pressure.
Real Squad Gains: "I dropped my 1900m triathlon swim from 44 to 32 minutes in one season. Technique + pacing awareness made the difference." — Steph (Speedy Swimmer)
