From 29th March 2021 We are re-launching 1-2-1 Front Crawl Technique Swim Lessons at Guildford Lido

 

We coach all levels of triathletes, open water and master’s swimmers, plus many beginners.

 

We have a wealth of experience to impart to you and ensure this is done in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Our adult swim lessons are extremely popular, whether you're looking to improve your freestyle or completely new to front crawl. We'll teach you all the skills and drills specific to your swim level to help you achieve and develop all aspects of your front crawl.

Learn all the skills and technique drills you'll need to swim front crawl with more efficiency, speed and power to help you achieve your training and event / racing goals!

Cold water pre-season lane swimming timetable (All sessions last for 1 hour and start every 15 minutes):

 

Monday 09:00 - 14:00

Tuesday 09:00 - 14:00 & 16:00 - 17:00

Wednesday 09:00 - 14:00

Thursday 09:00 - 14:00 & 16:00 - 17:00

Friday 09:00 - 16:00

What to expect:

We offer 1-2-1 private front crawl technique swim lessons at Guildford Lido from March 29th to mid September 2021. (We are hoping to be able to offer  2-2-1 and 3-2-1 swim coaching for front crawl as covid-19 restrictions ease in the next few weeks)

Each session lasts for one hour and will include a 5-minute warm up and a coach analysis of your front crawl stroke technique above and underwater.

This will be followed by teaching you the skills and drills of front crawl swimming as required and bespoke to your own personal skill set.

For example, this can include:

  • Learning how to achieve a higher body position

  • Reduce drag and resistance

  • Improve your breathing technique and timing

  • Improve your entry phase

  • Catching the water better for better distance per stroke

  • Reduce your stroke count

  • Tune your stroke rate

  • Focus on your arm timing for more consistent swimming

  • Increase your propulsion through the water

  • Improve your long axis hip driven rotation

  • Becoming more streamlined in the water 

  • Kick more efficiently with straighter legs to move better

  • Plus up to 80 other front crawl techniques and stroke corrections!

Swim drills are provided after your swim lesson by email

Covid-19 Information as of 25th March 2021

During the winter swim timetable at Guildford Lido (29th March to 17th May 2021) until Covid restrictions are eased as per Government guidelines we would need to check with the management at the Lido about running 2-2-1 and 3-2-1 swim lessons prior to booking.

 

All our swim sessions are fully risk assessed and covid secure with measures in place which we will email you about prior to your first swim lessons. We will also require you to confirm you are free from any coronavirus symptoms in the 24 hours before each lesson.

Summer Swim time availability: 

  • Swim lessons are available all year round during the week, including day times and some evenings.

  • During the summer months swim lessons are held at Guildford Lido.

    • There are always lanes in the pool, although wetsuit swimming is only allowed during official lane swimming times:

      • Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8.00am - 10am lane swim.

      • Daytimes Monday to Fridays 10.30am to  18.30pm 

      • Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7pm - 8.30pm lane swim

These sessions are for all levels of swimmers, triathletes and masters:

  • Triathletes - sprint to Ironman distance and beyond

  • Beginners who can swim 25 metres

  • Non-swimmers wanting to learn front crawl

  • To those wanting to improve their open water skills and techniques from 750m to 14km swims. 

You’ll then receive your personal swim drills after each swim lesson by email for you to practice in between swim lessons.
