Do you want to refine and improve your front crawl technique over the next 10 weeks?
Speedy Swimming are starting back at the Aldershot Garrison Olympic 50m pool on Tuesdays at 8.30pm from 5th October 2021.
The Swim Squad provides weekly structured sessions for triathletes and master’s swimmers.
FINAL few places remaining, 6 left! Early booking is advised to secure your place.
Here are a few swim tips and areas we will be looking at to improve your catch phase mechanics, amongst the other phases of front crawl, including, entry, pull, push, recovery, breathing, kicking and streamlining.
1. Keep your lead arm up high in the water on entry
2. Reach over a barrel and push it behind you
3. Pivot at the elbow keeping upper arm up high
4. Perform the catch slower than the rest of the underwater stroke
5. Bend your elbow to 90 degrees
The weekly group swim sessions re-start at Aldershot on Tuesday evenings from 830 to 930pm from 5th October 2021
October will start the transition to more of a technical focus, breaking down the elements of the front crawl stroke into manageable chunks and then gradually putting it back together over the following few weeks, with a more purist approach to technique, across all the phases of the front crawl stroke. This will then set you up with a solid foundation to build upon when we enter the aerobic base training period in a few weeks!
We'll be looking at refining your body position, kicking, breathing, rotation, entry, catch, pull, push and recovery phases plus streamlining.
You'd be welcome to come along from the 5th October for a trial session or we have a 10 week introductory offer available too. Info below:

We continue onwards and upwards, with a changing focus, an ever-improving understanding of front crawl technique, and learning how to apply the theory of fluid dynamics and power transfer, whilst striving for increased efficiency, pacing, and resisting drag and becoming more streamlined. These are the goals we look to attain from our Speedy Swimming sessions.
