How much time do you want to take off your 100 metre front crawl pace?

November 28, 2018

Dear Freestyle swimmer

It's your swim technique talking here on behalf of your muscle memory, heart and lungs...did you know it can take 3 times as long to correct poor technique as to instill new technique?

I know you've been training hard and no doubt racing over the summer in triathlons, open water swimming events etc., and your body needed a rest and time out last month.

Now is the best time to check in and give your swim technique some much needed and technique loving care, and fix any stroke flaws with a swim video analysis discovery session. We'll assess and identify which stroke corrections and and swim drills to target for you and set you on the path to successfully achieving your swim goals and aims in 2019!

We can help you reduce your average 100 metre pace by ten seconds with a swim video analysis session in the endless pool in Chertsey Surrey!

Recently we have had a some improver level clients reduce their pace by up to 30 seconds per 100 metres, and an intermediate swimmer reduce his 100 metre pace by 10 seconds. Plus helping beginners to become a lot more efficient at breathing, maintaining a higher and more streamlined body position, better straight leg kicking and focusing on their arms for improved rhythm and timing.

Learn how improving your distance per stroke (DPS) is really important as this allows you to expend the least amount of energy to go the furthest distance.

The further you travel on each stroke the more efficient you are. With a caveat of not excessively gliding every stroke or pushing off the wall at the end of the lane. It's driven from your technique and core strength.

The main 4 reasons why you should want to improve your distance per stroke (DPS) are:

1. Improved performance

2. Streamlining

3. Better efficiency in the water

4. Enhanced timing

How you may ask?...with

• Optimal pacing from regular time trials to set your "T-pace" or average 1500 metre pace

• Correcting stroke inefficiencies with endless pool and go pro video analysis in the pool

• Improving rotation and power using the TechToch by Finis

• Enhancing catch phase mechanics using drills such as fists, alternating fists, and slowing the glide phase on entry

• Developing a higher early vertical forearm position to push more water behind you for the same effort

• Better streamlining by being higher in the water, generating less turbulence, and less drag in the water

• Providing structured training sessions to focus on with online training plan we designed on Training Peaks
