"In the current Squad training group, we've been focusing on pacing control and awareness over the last few weeks, using a tempo trainer to monitor and improve their average 100 metre pace at 80% effort. This has really been working, its a very accurate way of training which is reaping rewards for our swimmers. One lady dropped 24 seconds over 400 metre time trial last week, and another 3 other swimmers have reduced this by 10 seconds each!"
We keep a record each week of how you're doing, and the improvements you'll be making, so that you see and can track consistent progress on your technique and splits!
Here is a sample swim squad session focusing on improving your push phase and enhancing the feel for the water we completed. Feel free to use it, and let us know how you get on:
In our next training block the group will focus on a weekly rolling cycle of :
Week 1: Endurance
Week 2: Speed
Week 3: Lactate threshold
Week 4: Technique
